Settling in Dubai — questions

I recently received a written notice saying I'm in breach of the regulations, and since it's the first time, I have no sense of how serious it is. Does it lead straight to a fine, or do they give you time to fix it? I'd also like to know what happens if it's repeated.

I missed the regular filing deadline by one day, and I'm wondering whether a penalty applies immediately even in a case like this. It's the first time it's happened so I have no idea how much it'd be, and I'm also wondering whether it gets harsher if I'm late again later.
