I thought the mainland required a local partner
I'm preparing to settle in Dubai and looking into setting up a small trading company. I vaguely heard from people around me that foreigners can now own 100% of a mainland company on their own, but when I got the draft contract, that clause was nowhere to be seen. I have two kids in elementary school, so the decision keeps getting pushed back around school schedules, but I think I need to fix a signing date now. I was under the impression the mainland always required a local partner — has the rule changed recently, or did I hear wrong?

두바이 정착을 준비하면서 작은 무역 회사를 하나 두려고 알아보는 중입니다. 주변에서 외국인도 본토에서 단독으로 지분 전부를 가질 수 있다는 얘기를 얼핏 들었는데, 막상 계약서 초안을 받아보니 그 항목이 전혀 안 보여서요. 초등 자녀 두 명이 있어서 학교 일정과 겹쳐 결정이 계속 밀리고 있는데, 이제는 계약 시점을 정해야 할 것 같습니다. 본토는 원래 현지 파트너가 필요한 것으로 알고 있었는데 요즘 기준이 바뀐 건지, 아니면 제가 잘못 들은 건지 궁금합니다.
