Wow, the more I hear about schools for kids here the stranger it sounds

I'm trying to explain the school situation here to my parents but it's hard to put into words. My spouse and I are preparing together, but neither of us has actually been there yet. All I've seen is a quick look over a video call with an acquaintance. People say it's very different from Korean schools, but I don't know exactly what I should be telling them.
