Is it very different now from what I looked into last year?

I'm looking at moving assets over. What I briefly looked into last year and what people are saying now are completely different. Some say the process got simpler, others say there's more paperwork. I don't know whose word to go by, hence this post. From people who've actually been through it recently, I'd appreciate it if you could point out what has genuinely changed between last year and now.
