Wow, a car really is a must here
I got a posting to Dubai next month and my spouse is coming with me. I'm still on my own with this and can't set a baseline, so — is anyone here getting by without a car? Reading around, some people say a car is essential and others say taxis and the metro are plenty. I have to commute and also get to the supermarket and the doctor, so I'm wondering what people do when they first arrive. Wow, everyone says something different about cars here.

다음 달에 두바이로 발령이 났는데 배우자랑 같이 갑니다. 아직 혼자라 기준을 못 잡겠어서 그런데, 현지에서 차량 없이 지내는 분들도 계신가요? 여기저기 글 보면 차는 필수라는 분도 있고 택시나 메트로로 충분하다는 분도 있어서요. 출퇴근도 해야 하고 마트나 병원도 다녀야 하는데 처음 가면 어떻게 하는지 궁금합니다. 와 여기 차 관련해서는 다들 얘기가 다르네요.
