Third year on posting here and I was a bit shocked when I ran the numbers on the retirement visa
I've been working in Dubai on a company posting for three years and my family is here too. The company only covers part of it so I'm looking into things myself, and the visa requirements for settling in or long-term residency vary more than I expected. I vaguely heard about the retirement visa and apparently there are age, years-of-service and asset criteria. I didn't think I'd qualify yet so I was going to let it go, but talking it over with my spouse I ended up running the numbers. I want to work out where what the company covers overlaps with what I'd have to fund myself.

주재원 3년차인데 은퇴비자 계산해보고 좀 놀랐습니다
두바이에서 주재원으로 3년째 일하고 있고 가족도 같이 있습니다. 회사에서 일부만 지원한다고 해서 제가 직접 알아보는 중인데, 정착이나 장기 거주 쪽 비자 조건이 생각보다 갈리네요. 은퇴비자에 대해 얼핏 들은 게 있는데 나이랑 재직 연수, 자산 기준이 그렇다더군요. 저는 아직 그 조건에 해당하지 않을 것 같아서 그냥 넘길까 했는데, 배우자랑 이야기하다 보니 미리 계산해보게 됐습니다. 회사가 지원해주는 범위랑 제가 따로 준비해야 할 금액이랑 겹치는 게 뭔지 정리해보고 싶어서요.
