Are moving quotes different now compared to last year?

While preparing to move to Dubai I got quotes from several moving companies and the amounts differ quite a bit. It also feels a bit different from what an acquaintance who settled there last year told me. My kids are in elementary school so we have to be near a school, which means picking the neighborhood first — I'm curious whether moving costs these days are much different from last year. If anyone has experience, even just your impressions would help.
